August 2001

Welcome To Kindergarten

Welcome Boys, Girls, and Parents to Kindergarten. My name is Ms. Peterson and I am very excited to meet each and everyone one of you. This year will be fun and exciting. We have lots of learning to do and I can not wait to start. I hope that all of you had a fun and safe summer. I know that I did and now I am ready for school to start.

All about the Teacher

I have a Bachelors degree in Physical Education from Bellevue University.  I received my teacher credentials from The College of Saint Mary’s. I choose to be a teacher because I love working with children and think that each child deserves a proper education.  I feel that it is important for all children to be in a positive learning environment so that they feel like they can accomplish anything.

I have a 18month little girl named Lauren and she is the sunshine in my life.  We love to play in the park, read, and go bike riding together.

Volunteers and Visitors

I welcome any all parents to visit our classroom at anytime. There is no need to call in advance to tell me that you are coming. Please remember that all visitors must check in at the front office and get a visitors badge. When you enter the classroom  please feel free to have a seat where you feel comfortable. If I am in the middle of teaching a lesson please don’t be offended if I do not stop and introduce you right away.

I will stop when I get a break in the lesson.  Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Also, during the year I will need some volunteers in the classroom. Any parents that would and can volunteer would be appreciated. I will post a volunteer sheet on the bulletin board when school starts, please sign up for the dates that you can assist. There will also be times we need volunteers to assist with fieldtrips, please sign up for those also if you are available.

  Show and Tell Tuesday

Tuesdays will be the day for the children to bring in their show and tell for the week. I will let everyone know the subject matter that we are learning so they can bring in what they have to show and tell about.
